Between the 6th and 8th October, Fr. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach visited Malta, to inaugurate the Centenary Year of St. Aloysius' College, Birkirkara. This was Fr.General's third visit to Malta. The Sicilian Jesuits had opened the College at Birkirkara on the 8th of October 1907, with the first school day being on the 14th October.

During his visit Fr. General visited the Jesuit province and its works, while the occasion highlight was  the Thanksgiving Masses held in occasion of the  Centenary, for the Students and Staff at St.Theresa's Sanctuary, and for the public at the Jesuits' Church in Valletta.
